The State of South Carolina has more than 100 colleges, universities, and trade and technical schools to offer. In Columbia alone, there are numerous options for post-secondary education including public and private, religiously oriented, and technical schools.

Attending college close to home may be a great option for those looking to reduce their usage of fossil fuels. The closer the school is located to home, the less gas would be used by visiting parents and family members who reside locally.
